2016 Leogang UCI World Cup Downhill: Results

Leogang secured a bit more history with the 2016 Leogang UCI World Cup Downhill when Rachel Atherton secured her 10th win-in-a-row.

When riders arrived, it looked like the weather could become the unknown factor, as initial rain turned parts of the course into a greasy, unpredictable and muddy mess... however as the time progressed toward the finals, it became less of a feature and outcomes returned to the riders.

It's becoming a regular sequence of events for UCI World Cup races, the qualifying and practice is dominated by three riders from the UK, Manon Carpenter, Tahnee Seagrave and Rachel Atherton... however come the final, Rachel is producing the results that are eclipsing everyone...

Leogang, was just a repeat... through consider that Rachel has now passed Anne-Caroline Chaussuer by winning 10 races straight, that is something to stand back and acknowledge as an awesome
achievement.

In 2015 Aaron Gwin stunned everybody by winning at Leogang when he dropped his chain just after the start. For 2016 he would be on a new bike, on which he seems to have recaptured his typical bold form.

The results on the day would show that riders on the Specialized Demo that Aaron moved away from to the YT Tues would be the closest to challenge him... but really the victory was his.
