2016 Cairns UCI World Cup Downhill: Results

2016 Cairns UCI World Cup Downhill: Results - Rachel Atherton

The track at the 2016 Cairns UCI World Cup Downhill stayed dry, which kept racing exciting. Australian rider Josh Button had a career best, finishing 5th... but the placing only tells part of the story, the important part was how long he stayed on the hot seat and how riders struggled to put a run together consistently fast enough through all sectors to take his place.

All credit to Loic Bruni for securing his first UCI World Cup Downhill win.. though watching Specialized teammate Troy Brosnan on the final run must have been tough on his nerves.

In the women's race, Rachel Atherton delivered a run that confirms she's riding far ahead of the others, however don't discount those who were so close behind her, as any sign of a slip, fellow GB riders Manon Carpenter and Tahnee Seagrave are close and Tracey Hannah has returned to form.
