2014 Cairns UCI World Cup Downhill: Qualifying

It's not unreasonable to expect rain in a rain forest is it? The amount of rain and frequency of it in Cairns during practice and qualifying for the 2014 UCI World Cup Downhill though really did go above and beyond the usual behaviour of a rain forest for autumn.

You'll never really feel how the rain turns the red soil of Queensland into a form of warm glue until you have experienced it in person. The stuff could have radioactive properties and you'd agree, as the red colour is almost unnatural... this qualifying sessions edit from Red Bull might help.
