Frame Builder Chris DeKerf

There is something very satisfying about turning raw material into a brand new thing... a functional thing. I started my working life in an engineering workshop making things out of bronze, brass, stainless-steel and more. Now, as a hobby, I'm trying to make things from wood on a pole lathe. I'm not saying it's easy though, I made lots of mistakes when I started working with metal and to be honest the things I'm making in wood... well they are pretty fucking ugly, but they do work.

So I watch in awe and respect, the skills of an artisan like Vancouver based frame builder Chris DeKerf. He has 25 years experience and has built over 5,000 frames.
