2013 Leogang UCI World Cup Downhill Finals

The ultimate round of the 2013 UCI World Cup Downhill played out before an enthusiastic live audience at Leogang, Austria. Despite what seemed to be utter dominance at the elite level by the Atherton siblings on the GT team, the reality was that the championships were still very much up for grab.

Consistency has played a key role this year, it's kept the series exciting and relevant. It's been clear though, the battle to become the World Champion has been fought by a handful of riders. For the women, Rachel Atherton, Emmiline Ragot, Manon Carpenter and Myriam Nicole. Late charges have come from Tracey Hannah, Jill Kintner and Morgaine Charre.

For the men the dominators have been Steve Smith, Gee Atherton, Loic Bruni, Greg Minnear, Mick Hannah and Sam Hill. Outside of those half-dozen, have been riders whom it's been tougher this year and sometimes luck seems to have been against them, Danny Hart, Sam Blenkinsop, Brook MacDonald, Troy Brosnan and the ever-charging Steve Peat.

So grab a cuppa, a couple of biscuits, switch the phone off and enjoy..
