Yeti Announce A Tribal Gathering For New Zealand

Yeti New Zealand have just announced a new initiative for Yeti owners and prospective owners, a tribal gathering that will take place Labour Weekend (October 22 to 24). It sounds like a blast with demo bikes to ride, including the recently announced SB-66. Workshops with Fox Racing Shocks and access to some great spots to ride around the Queenstown base. If budget was no option I'd be pre-ordering my SB-66 right now and working out my body armour options for the Urban DH.

If you have a Yeti or a real hankering to own one, then read through their press release below:

This labour weekend Yeti lovers from across NZ will come together in the beautiful southern lakes area for the first ever Yeti NZ Tribe Gathering to ride, party and talk turquoise!

This is not a race.. far from it! Although those that like to get competitive can try there stuff at some of the events being held on the weekend including an urban DH and a 10hr race which we will be entering some teams in.

We'll have some awesome rides around Wanaka and also a day on the Queenstown Gondola. Some guys from Fox Racing will come and give us all a lesson in fine tuning our shocks and we will also have a range of demo bikes for people to have a play on including ASR5′s, 575s, a Big Top and the new SB-66.

Here's an idea of what we may get up to...

Friday – Outlet Track & Sticky Forest + Fox movie and setup night

Saturday – Either Wanaka Urban DH or an epic ride down Mt Alpha (we have special permission as this ride is not normally allowed) for those that want a knarly challenge. And there will also be a group riding the gorgeous trail from Dublin bay to Luggate Hotel for those that prefer this.

Sunday – We will take part in the Wanaka 10hr event.. either as a solo for hard nuts, or in one of our Yeti theme teams… fancy dress will be required! and that night we'll watch the Rugby World Cup finals and have an awesome party... again!

Monday – Drive to Queenstown and ride the Skyline Gondola, before saying watery eyed good byes.
